Banana Colouring Page

K2 dot to dot colouring sheet

Lesson Plan: Title: Fun with Fruits - Let's Colour a Banana

Objective: The aim of this activity is to introduce children to fruits, especially bananas. Through this coloring activity, children will learn about the shape, colour and texture of bananas. They will also improve their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and concentration.

Materials required:

  • Banana Coloring sheet
  • Colors, preferably crayons or colour pencils
  • A flat surface to work on
  • A small bowl of fruit to discuss and explore

Introduction: We all know that children learn best when they are interested in the subject. Therefore, we will start the activity by discussing the fruit. Parents can show the child a fresh banana and discuss its physical properties such as shape, size, texture, and color.

Activity: Once the child is familiar with the banana, parents can provide them with a banana coloring sheet. Parents can ask their child to colour the banana by observing the texture, shape, and colour of the fruit that they just discussed. Encourage the child to colour the banana according to their own creativity and imagination. This will improve their decision-making skills, creativity, and color recognition.

Discussion: While the child is colouring, parents can engage them in a discussion about bananas. Encourage them to share their thoughts about what they know about bananas such as, where it grows, what kinds of dishes can be made with bananas, what other fruits can be mixed with bananas and more. This conversation will spark their curiosity and will help them to learn about other fruits and foods. Additionally, you could use this as an opportunity to discuss the importance of healthy eating habits and how fruits are a necessary part of a healthy diet.

Conclusion: After the child has finished colouring the banana, they could share their creation and discuss what they liked about the activity with their parents. Encourage them to make a note of what they learned about bananas and also encourage them to try new fruits and healthy food options.

You could take a picture and write about how you feel about bananas. send it by email to deliakindergarten.fruitmonth@blogger.com
